Hiking in Montsant

The first weekend of december we went hiking in the Montsant Natural Park. We were accompanied by Heide, a volunteer from the Frankfurt area, Germany and Marie from Toulouse, Southern France. They come here on a year program as volunteer for a center for the mental disable where Anna works. We left Tàrrega early morning and left the car near the hermitage of San Isidre from where we started to walk. The landscape was beautiful and the vegetation was dense. Then after hiking a while and arrived to the suspended bridge and then to the Sant Bartomeu hermitage.
Then we headed up to the peak of the “Ventoses” where indeed was very windy and we could enjoy the awesome view. At this point we had a little incovinient because we lost track of out path and ended up to a very steep rock from where we could not see the way out. Finally we saw two experienced hikers who saved our lives by showing the way back to the right path. The hike up the peak continued for a little longer and finally arriving at the top “Pic dels Pins Carrassers” where we could enjoy a beautiful view as we started our steep descent in the woods.
